Time decides this more often than distance. Every traditional repair shop we checked in Springfield is closed on Saturday, which makes any repair a weekday drop-off and a weekday collection: a second driver, or a day of leave. From Cottage Grove or Creswell that can cost most of a working day on a four-hour job.

Eugene, Creswell and Cottage Grove have their own pages
Three towns carry enough detail of their own to warrant a page: different roads in, different failures, different reasons to make the trip.
Auto repair for Eugene drivers. The largest share of our work outside Springfield, across the river on Franklin Boulevard, I-105 or I-5. That page covers the routes in from Whiteaker, Churchill, Bethel, Santa Clara and the south hills, and what Beltline traffic and the river crossings do to a car. For much of Eugene the run out to us takes less time than crossing Eugene itself at five o'clock.
Auto repair for Creswell drivers. North on I-5, on at exit 182 and off at 194A, with no traffic lights until you leave the freeway. That page is about the commuter fleet, and about why alignments out there drift without anybody hitting anything.
Auto repair for Cottage Grove drivers. North on I-5 from exit 174 or 176. That page covers Row River Road, the lake towing season, gravel miles, and the only stretch of I-5 around here that genuinely gets salted.
Auto repair for Coburg, Veneta, Pleasant Hill and Junction City
Four towns we serve without a page of their own, because the routes and the work are close enough to the three above.
Coburg. South on I-5 from exit 199, the shortest run of the four. The stretch sends us more light trucks than anywhere else we draw from, half-ton through one-ton diesel pickups included.
Veneta. East on OR-126 through west Eugene. Cars off that stretch see more rain, more dirt-road miles and more coastal weather, and it shows up first in brake and suspension wear.
Pleasant Hill. Straight in on OR-58, closer than the map makes it look. Trailer-tow brake and suspension work is most of what comes in from there.
Junction City. South on OR-99, then Beltline east. Junction City and Veneta both route through Eugene, so plan those trips around the commute.
What Lane County roads do to cars
Damp, not salt. ODOT does not salt the Eugene-Springfield metro, so the corrosion we see is slow and electrical: moisture working into connector pins, crimps and ground straps over years. See Oregon rain and underbody corrosion.
Potholes after the wet season. Alignment complaints, bent wheels and damaged struts all spike in spring. A pull that appears the day after a hard hit is usually one of those three.
The passes. OR-58 over Willamette Pass and OR-126 east put sustained load on cooling systems and brakes that valley driving never applies. Worth checking before you go.
